Of all the #Silmarillion fanfic I’ve written over the years, I always get a super extra jolt of joy when I get kudos on the Ninnachel series, which is about an intersex & non-binary elf, and probably the closest I’ll ever get to writing a self-insert. Maybe someday I’ll add more. It also, incidentally, expands out into a discussion of queerness in general in the First Age of Middle-earth.
