Stationed at the L1 Lagrange point, it provides continuous data vital for space weather forecasting.

Another evening of futzing with the laptop while sitting in front of the TV - getting things "just so".
I do enjoy the minimal configurations that Alpine ships for some things, less config file clutter.
The wiki seems much more "deep" than I realized. Throw a term into the search and you get good results. Perhaps not as deep everywhere as the Arch wiki but considerably better than Debian's IIRC.
A full fat install with Plasma and all the biggie creative and office apps is ~14GB. I expect adding plugins to more apps will add a bit but not much more. The only flatpaks of consequence are Waterfox, Signal, and fstl-e. Alpine's repos have quite decent, recent coverage of most things. I guess I should check if things like Blender and FreeCAD have discrete GPU support compiled in.
Picked up a new AMD GPU today - going to convert my main workstation to Alpine next. The old NV will go into the dorky Win11 box I need to keep around but rarely use.
Spent the evening migrating my laptop (XPS 9700) from Debian to Alpine.
<gasp - horror - shudder>
Installing is a different experience compared to generic PC hardware. There was a number of things I had to chase manually like wifi, audio, Dell firmware support but it wasn't a big deal. Debian takes care of those things for you on the laptop during install (non-free install ofc).
The Alpine wiki is quite good. Everything I needed to get things going was there.
Network Manager is still a pain in the a55 but on a laptop I'll deal with it. Ha.

I hope this is the right place to ask, but there is this TV/Radio antennae plug in our Den - Unfortunately it looks like someone cut the line where it comes out of the house near the old TV antennae mast. Any suggestions on fixing/leveraging this for DTV and/or FM antennae for my component stereo setup that I am planning to put back up? The lower plug on that faceplate is so dam weird..
It appears to be ladderline wiring inside - do I reconnect and use for a FM or Ham radio, or do I use it to pull through some COAX & CAT6 to connect the DTV & FM antennae? 🤔
EDIT: I pulled the faceplate and plug off, and it is ladder line inside. The plug is a Wineguard model T32-U which only had the TV/FM connected the lower UHF plug was disconnected - and neither had the ground connected.
