These two are classic Easter birds: the colorful barnacle goose represents the painting of eggs, while the spoonbill represents the egg spoon.

The Holkham estate had advertised potential views of Spoonbills, they’ve confirmed a chick has hatched and knew the parents would be busy.

We didn’t anticipate they would be at quite an extreme range from the closest hide! You can just about make one out on the far side of the pond.

Впервые встретил roseate spoonbill/Platalea ajaja/ко́лпица розовая (впервые слышу слово "колпица", хотя они есть и в России). По крайней мере в условиях, когда получилось сфотографировать. Клюв выглядит зачетно. Не зря решил заехать на денёк на остров Cozumel, пусть ночной снорклинг и отменился из-за погодных условий.

A white fronted goose floating on water. It is a grey goose but, get this, you'll never guess... the front of its face is white!
