"We Got the Beat" is a song by the American #rock band #theGoGos, written by the group's lead guitarist and keyboardist #CharlotteCaffey. The band first recorded the song in 1980 for a single on UK-based #StiffRecords, and later rerecorded it for their debut album #BeautyAndTheBeat on #IRSRecords. The initial single release brought the Go-Go's underground credibility during their first UK tour and in the band's hometown of #LosAngeles.

"Alison" is a song written by and first recorded by #ElvisCostello in 1977 for his debut album #MyAimIsTrue on #StiffRecords. Costello claimed the song was written as an ode to a woman he saw working at a supermarket, though he has remained vague on the meaning. Though Costello's single never charted, it has become one of his most famous songs. #LindaRonstadt, who covered the song and released her version in 1979, had a moderate hit with it.
