An ancient Native American stone wall stands vertical against a cloudy sky and rocky desert landscape at Hovenweep.

Ancient Inca engineering at its finest: the agricultural terraces of Huchuy Qosqo (Kakya Qawani), like a giant stone staircase in the mountain. Each level required precise stonework. While terracing is common in the Sacred Valley, their scales and precisions remind us of the immense effort required to build them.

I came across this beautiful and ornate building number on 16 Colquhoun Street in Helensburgh today. I particularly like the Disgorging Green Man at the bottom, a very appropriate symbol to come across as we move towards Spring.
