There were various reasons why I opted for the Trailseeker over the bZ Woodland, one of them was selection of paint colors.

I definitely wanted a blue car (my last three Audis have been blue: Ara Blue A4 allroad (current), Sprint Blue S5 and Moro Blue A4) and Toyota's Trueno Blue was too dark while Subaru's Daybreak Blue hit all the right buttons for me.

I also don't like the all black wheels that Toyota is including with the bZ Woodland.

Although I like the Hammerhead Shark front that Toyota's using on their electrified vehicles, I dislike the all black wheels. Never liked all black wheels as they look kind of cheap, just like shiny piano black plastics.

Digging into the press release more, the 2027 Highlander has 45.6 cubic feet of cargo space with the 3rd row folded down and 15.9 cubic feet with the 3rd row up.

For comparison, the Subaru Solterra has an EPA cargo volume of 63.5 and 23.8 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down and rear seats up respectively.

In the case of the Trailseeker, it's 74 and 31.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down and rear seats up respectively.

So, bZ Woodland and Trailseeker definitely for the win if you're looking for a cargo hauler when you only have up to 2 people in the car.

It's kind of funny to see that the 2026 Toyota C-HR EV only comes with all-wheel drive while the Subaru version, the Uncharted, has a front-wheel drive version.

At least it makes the Subaru version a little bit less expensive than the C-HR; but, it's not exactly a great value compared to the slightly larger bZ or Solterra.

That said, if you wanted something a little bit smaller (about wheelbase that's about 4 inches shorter and about 7 inches shorter overall), then I guess the C-HR/Uncharted might be an okay choice.

Reports are that China will be banning flush-mounted / pop out / electric door handles on vehicles.
Sure they look cool, but microscopic changes in drag and loads of reports of them freezing up in cold weather and not allowing access / exit when electrics fail or in accidents.
Another Musk feature crashing and burning.
Meanwhile, I note a recent Subaru ad featuring traditional dashboard controls like knobs and buttons - not a touchscreen.
Good industrial design.

Ok, that's reckless driving, but that's not really the point I want to make. I own the same car, have it for quite some time (I think seven or eight years) and it has 320000km on the clock. Not a single breakdown and only minimal maintenance like changing the oil. Breaks pads was replaced twice and clutch once. Wipers every now and then, but that's what this car needed. Im using it mostly in winter and if I have to pull something. This little car can pull 2t (some 4400pounds for the metrical impaired) and it's four wheel drive is perfect for winter. Otherwise I am driving an EV.
My main point, this little car (smaller than a VW Golf) is the reason all the arguments for SUVs are invalid. It has a much better fuel consumption (6.5l/100km or 36miles per gallon in stupid measurement), the space inside is comparable if not better (at least better than my GFs Audi Q5) and in winter nothing beats it, as you can see. Even in offroad conditions it beats SUVs. One needs a real offroad car to get deeper into the forrest...
