These photos are from a new "rainway" that was installed in the City of Vancouver.
Residents of all ages gathered to plant native perennials in a newly completed block of the Rainway, transforming it into a vibrant green space.
Just three weeks later, the Rainway faced a true test with a record-breaking atmospheric river that brought over 100mm of rain to Metro Vancouver. The plants survived, and the water flowed gracefully over the weirs, showcasing the effectiveness of the design.

(1/2) During the last week I visited Copenhagen one more time to attend the DWF Water Research Conference. It is always nice to be back at CPH and sad to say bye! Anyway, this time we presented two contribuions: 1) We are working using #pySWMM and #OpenStreetMap to perform extensive simulations about the global effect of a Master Plan to install blue roofs in most city buildings. IMO it's an interesting new line within my group #SUDS #urbanhydraulics (I'll continue this toot tomorrow)

The idea is welcome but the execution isn’t good. Big plastic tubs is not a green solution and the placement is awkward and obstructive. Imagine you’re blind and you’re trying to navigate this. Instead we need to look at more permanent planting in the ground, SUDs and trees.
