Photograph shows the area around our garden pond. In the foreground flowering Echinacea purpurea, ornamental grasses and several other plants. Behind a large fern. The area behind that is planted up with various wild plants, such as Blue alkanet, Sedge, Comfrey and other wildflowers. The large purple flowering plant in the background is self-seeded Lythrum salicaria (Purple loosestrife), I think. The bees adore it. To the left is a very large spruce tree. Along the back runs a beech hedge.

So I’ve spent time in-between showers baking. Here is the results of that jar - 7 fruitcakes + liquor to wet them off and on. Should last at least a year…
