My post from the week, which was very much related to the date of publication (April 1st) and today represents my imagining of what an AC/DC album would be like if the lyrics contained fruit along with the innuendo. Excerpt:

Little Peeler

Orange yourself
On the bed
I’m in the mood
For some head

Zeyn Joukhadar, On Queerness, an essay, contd.

'Just as it was for my father, all my other languages are always present in my English, dislodging and disorienting it, jarring open space for me to dwell inside. I disrupt my languages because I want the perfect understanding that exists on the other side of them, as though I might have a map for living if only I could hold each un-languaged sensation in my hand ...'

We're only getting peeks of the oranges and yellows of the sun at the moment here in North Yorkshire but this is a gorgeous piece by Larissa Pham in The Paris Review from 2019 looking at the colour orange in art and the epistemology of the word. It's so lovely, in fact, that it makes me wish my auburn hair were that little bit lighter. Those are words I thought I'd never say. Ever. theparisreview.org/blog/2019/0
