Super fun one for this week's #MusicWomenWednesday. The 5.6.7.8s just put out this cool 'Best hits of' compilation. Gotta love these gals. Kinda 60s, kinda surfy, garagey, unhinged/cute vocals. You may recognize the song 'Woo Hoo' from Kill Bill, which is included here. Also, they have a song about Mothra. You can't go wrong with that.

#NowPlaying Satan’s Pilgrims, Soul Pilgrim (Estrus Records, 1995). Shout to @TheVinylApe for posting about this great band last night, which sent me straight into the stacks to queue up this garage surf classic. I bought this record from the band when I saw them live at the legendary Juanita’s Cantina in Chico, CA around the time this came out (I swear I don’t feel that old), and it’s been a staple in my collection ever since.

Written by front man and lead vocalist #JoeyRamone, it appears on the band's third studio album #RocketToRussia (1977). The song is well known for its early 1960s influence of #surfRock and #bubblegumPop that influenced Joey; it has since remained one of the band's most popular songs.
