A presentation slide titled "Investigating Corporate Editors in OpenStreetMap" from the OSM Science Track at State of the Map 2024, taking place on September 8th. The slide indicates a video presentation with the presenter's face appearing in a small bubble on the lower right corner, showing Alex Hoferek joining the session remotely.A slide titled "Typology," explaining the categorization of corporate editors (CEs) based on their editing habits and job satisfaction. The slide describes how participants were sorted into these categories, with a table showing the related measures and number of participants.A slide titled "Community Ties with Satisfaction," showing that most social CEs also fall into the happy CE category. The slide explains how social and happy CEs come from varied employment backgrounds, but many were OpenStreetMap users before they were employed. Conversely, less social and dissatisfied editors were homogenous in their work style, typically full-time, paid hourly, and based in North America.A slide titled "Discussion" summarizing the study's findings. It notes that 39 complete and 5 partial responses were collected. Over half of the corporate editors' population was unavailable for the study due to managerial control. One corporation even redirected all communication to the managers' inbox. The slide concludes that while the study doesn't fully represent corporate editors, it opens the discussion about their role in OSM. Alex Hoferek's video feed is visible in the corner of the slide.
