La intro es por quedar bien: el terror de la ficción no me aterra. Los hechos reales sí, los documentales sí, la ficción bélica sí, los periódicos sí. Congruente también.

Dos amigos. Fin de una noche de fiesta. Fiesta de despedida: Benjamin se marcha para iniciar una vida fuera entrando en la industria del porno. Un mal encuentro. Una mala decisión. Cuerpo. Cuerpo. Cuerpo.
Como en los filmes de La mosca (1958 y 1986), o La invasión de los ladrones de cuerpos, las transformaciones anatómicas de los protagonistas (y hay culos y pichas) son la pimienta del guion. Atomizan y apuntalan el largo en su género. Aunque, desde luego, es body horror parcial (con revenge, buddy horror y una poquita de road movie); las referencias al cine de los cincuenta son variadas. Cierto que la década fue espléndida en el género, Burton va a rehacer ahora una de entonces, pero a Carter Smith, el director de Swallowed, se le hace bola tanto guiño.
En la parte formal, Carter saca todo el jugo a la austeridad de medios, trabajando con pocos personajes y escenarios, los exteriores mayormente naturales, que no piden pan, y filma planos astutos, regios, sin desviarnos mostrando paisajes ni bobadas para parecer una intensa. Va al lío y lo muestra bien. Ese acierto lleva a otro: su correcta duración. Los momentos de tensión se racionan con talento igualmente.
Decía: Cuerpo, cuerpo, cuerpo. Porque si accedes a llevar sustancias de un punto a otro dentro de ti ganas dinero rápido y, supuestamente, fácil. Hacer de mula. O de asno... ¿Pero qué te metes?, ¿cómo sale?, ¿qué sale? ¿Puedes arrepentirte?, ¿y escapar?
