My contribution to #SilentSunday is this collection of #aviation #taildragger images from a past trip to Sullivan Lake, Washington with the RAF. Very well attended, lots of Aviat Huskys, a Bearhawk, and one cherry vintage Aeronca.

I flew up with my friend Turbo Harry in his immaculate #Cessna T210. And yes, I forgot to pack my tent, so I slept with one eye open under a picnic table in Bear Country, USA.

🛩️ I made it! Took off at #EDPW with officially 346m of grass #runway! 🛫 I always hesitated and cancelled that visit in my former #Katana #DV20 years, but with #Sperling and its #STOL capabilities I could finally go for it! 🥳 No wind, ~680kg and 27°C. 🌤️ That feeling racing towards that crop field and passing the point of no return just for the sake of some scribbled calculations is so thrilling! Excerpt from actual manual of aircraft. A table telling me that 240m is the take off run for a field with 500m elevation and the aircraft loaded with 660kg overall weight. It's for standard temperature at 15°C so I have to add like 1% for every degree until 27°C actual temperature.
