I did most of my holiday shopping through Walmart.

Why?

Because locally, the shops here are too small for distributors to even bother doing business with them. Shopping local means buying stock they got from Amazon, Walmart, or Target anyway.

Shopping local has become merely a proxy for large corporations, with marked-up prices as small shops try to turn that into a profit.

It’s too late — big business has won.

At #Target waiting in the parking lot for wife picking up #CVS prescription. Hearing more horn honking than any other time I’ve done this bi-monthly gig. It must be #Xmas time.

Noticed yesterday that #Target now sells #bananas by count instead of weight. This is weird, but follows some time for them doing the same for potatoes and onions. This is most annoying because I tend to buy smaller onions and bananas. So, I feel like I’m subsidizing those who like larger items.

A boycotted Target during lent this year, and I’ve only been shopping there once a month or so since.
