Figured out how to fix #video #tearing in #xfce on #linux with #amdgpu driver : simply enable the display #compositor - thought I'd tried it before, but maybe I was doing it wrong, or it didn't work properly in earlier versions (I was on Debian Buster/stable for a long while, now on Bullseye/testing).

du coup je n'arrive pas à supprimer le tearing à l'écran et donc les films c'est tout nul et pas beau.
Si quelqu'un a une solution pour supprimer le tearing avec le driver Nouveau je suis preneur, sinon je vais re-installer Strech :( (compton ne change rien à l'affaire, je suis sous xfce)

(pour info c'est pour mon mediacenter, une eMachine Atlhon x2, avec une très vielle GeForce 6150SE donc.)

@Ghosty I've been recommended #Mate by people before, but never used it. Does Mate have the same problems with #video #tearing that #Xfce does?

SI toi aussi tu avais des soucis de tearing avec Cinnamon, sache que la version 19.1 semble régler le problème nativement, Et si tu avais rajouté cette ligne :

CLUTTER_PAINT=disable-clipped-redraws:disable-culling

dans /etc/environment alors faut vite la virer sinon tes yeux vont saigner.
