“Hot day in the dog park. It was over 35C. We made a beeline for the water as soon as we entered. Then went around the trees sending our peemails.

“This was after visiting Victoria St mall for Dad to have vegetarian momos for lunch. We did bump into a friend taking time out from working from home. The temperature was 35C in the Coburg mall as well.

“We did a return trip to Tinning street in Brunswick, then called in at the Eastern bloc cafe near Coburg station for Dad to have an Iced coffee. First day back from holidays for the Eastern Bloc. Good to see them back. It is one of our favourite haunts.

“Then the 6km cycle back to Fawkner. The temperature was 27C inside our home so air-conditioning went on, while we had another drink, then we three settled down to watch the tennis 🎾🎾 at Melbourne Park. The players must be really feeling the heat today, although Melbourne Open was one of the first to develop an extreme heat policy for athletes.

“Dad prepared a seafood salad and a cucumber and tomato Asian salad for dinner along with a glass of Fiano, an Italian varietal. We got cold chicken and tinned meat loaf which met our tastes.”

Okay okay…. We didn’t last the distance. We packed up at 3pm when the temperature got to 38.9C.
Sorry but that is just too hot for our little bodies health. The BOM was saying 28.7C at the time. Ha!

At Bonwick St the White concrete was 46C (full sun) and black asphalt was 51C (full sun) and ambient air temperature 33C. (Shade)
Far too hot for walkies, just as well we are cycling

We have gone to find a nice bowl of water with ice cubes.
