Hey everyone, @gperson here. Just a quick update on why there hasn't been much #Tenacity activity recently.
Unfortunately, the last month of 2025 has been *very* hectic for me personally, and I do not expect it to get better this year. I'm not going to say what's going on, but just know that it's going to take time away from what I can do with this project and other things in general. There will still be others around, and I will still be around, just less frequently.

...this one uses a few Ableton sounds too. I had the MIDI controller out, might as well use it. As you can hear its a bit cleaner sounding. The other two tracks I've had to run NR on it to clear some loud hiss. #Tenacity is great for that.

I find it funny how part of the title in the article is "modern open-source audio editor" considering this: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45814328.
Looks like we got some conflicting viewpoints on what #Tenacity is: "legacy Audacity for legacy systems" or a "modern open-source audio editor". I think the latter is more appropriate :)

Yes, we were only made aware of this recently. Either way, it's still pretty neat, except one thing: you can record desktop audio on #Windows (it was a past limitation).

So an update regarding https://floss.social/@tenacity/115809772540994485: #libid3tag won't be changed because it's genre list is actually for legacy compatibility. We will still look to add new genres in #Tenacity, however.
We need everyone's thoughts on this: should we add K-pop to #libid3tag's known genres? If we do it, it'll be for the 0.16.4 release, which we're actively working on at the moment. We'll do the same thing on the #Tenacity side too.
I took a look into #Tenacity's latest issue: aborting on startup due to a failed assertion.
This bug seems to have been caused by a recent update in dependencies because I even tried building v1.4-alpha1 from source and it's also having the same issue. When I was testing that alpha release, I did not encounter this issue, or else 1.4 alpha 1 wouldn't have been released until I figured out the issue.
The bug in question is caused by a tripped assertion in AColor.cpp on line 86, where AButton::OnPaint() calls AColor::DrawFrame() which is really just a call to DrawNinePatch(). When this condition is tripped, 'r.width' (which I assume is the button's width) is much smaller than the bitmap minus its middle. With this information, I can find out which bitmap is causing this issue, and maybe I can figure out a potential fix from there.

I'll be honest, I've played a few #Luantj anarchy servers before because I get too bored. I am lucky enough to not experience much interaction, and I generally do whatever.
This time, I decided to do something I normally wouldn't: use a cheat client. The motivation? Try to cheat to get rid of all the lava coming down from the sky. Needless to say I got kicked several times attempting to fly to the starting point of the lava, which is reasonable. I'm glad the game detects such potential cheating as it can be abused in all kinds of ways.
Anyways, I need to do something more productive rather than attempting to "clean up" some random anarchy server that's only going to get vandalized even more (as is the nature of those things). I should finish up more #Tenacity work or start another project or something.
