One more to complete the #tetrahedra triptych.

I am fascinated with #drawing, the clarity of representation that can emerge from a few lines (or thousands) translating something real and solid onto a single plane. Sometimes, though, I'm striving for illegibility. These oblique (as opposed to perspectival) drawings describe a set of 3d #geometry, but present as #pattern, too, encouraging multiple readings of form and texture.

For those of you who have regular tetrahedra-packing on your minds because of @johncarlosbaez’s post (https://mathstodon.xyz/@johncarlosbaez/109739769180023737), here is a reminder of how irritated I am that a regular #icosahedron cannot be constructed from 20 regular #tetrahedra.

For some reason, I occasionally feel the need to mention that again…and again…😁.
