Rust and Sapphire

Well, hello! Charlie and I just woke from our afternoon nap. Actually, Charlie woke up before I did and patiently waited for my eyes to flutter open before excitedly urging me to let him outside.

During our morning walk, we spotted an eastern bluebird (Sialia sialis). There were many along the way, but this particular one stood out—its back feathers were such an intense shade of blue, it almost felt surreal, as if someone had painted it with a brush.

The photographs I share here don’t appear as vivid as they do in my Pixel’s gallery. To make them load more easily, I reduce their size and slightly lower their quality. Take a look:

"This image showcases an eastern bluebird perched gracefully on a wire, its delicate frame balanced with ease. The bird's feathers are a mesmerizing blend of deep cerulean blues cascading over its head, back, and wings, while its throat and chest radiate a warm, rusty orange. Its underbelly is a soft, snowy white, with faint gray undertones blending seamlessly. The bluebird’s eyes glisten like tiny polished beads, filled with quiet curiosity, and its petite, pointed beak adds to its charming appearance. The backdrop is a dreamy, out-of-focus gradient of soft sky-blue hues, serving as a perfect complement to the bird's vivid colors. In the bottom left corner, the image bears the signature "© Swede's Photographs," marking it as a beautifully captured moment." - Copilot

Clay-colored Thrush Landing by Debra Martz
Considered bland for their neutral coloring, but what beautiful eyes they have.
Widespread throughout Central America, it reaches north into South Texas.
