I have polished and released the source code for a TikZ reference card I created some years ago. (Images attached.)

The card was intended to be information-dense, fitting as much as possible on two sides of paper. It was only meant to be a reminder of syntax, not an explanation of meaning.

The PDF is A4+color but the source can be compiled for letter paper and/or greyscale (see the README).

The suite of macros used for the ‘grid’ layout could be used for other purposes. If there are expressions of interest, and if I have time, I might create a package based on these macros.

It doesn't work the same as ye olde #pic but #TikZ looks to provide enough for drawing square-gridded maps. The grid-drawing feature certainly helps, and the scaling is good enough. This is definitely a better fit for this #LaTeX document. #Bonus, it's not #onerous to include the pictures inline in #orgmode.

Yes, I had tried #MetaPost for diagrams. The boxes package was minimally helpful but with what I had in mind, it would probably not work out well. Perhaps #tikz is worth a look someday?

The map on the front cover's made to look a little like cup and ring markings, and was made in Tikz.

The story is about the dangers of poor infrastructure (like long roads with no passing places) and witches.

Dans cette nouvelle séquence, nous allons apprendre à afficher un intervalle d'erreur autour d'un graphique principal à l'aide de deux autres tracés ayant des valeurs supérieures et inférieures. Pour appliquer le remplissage de l'intervalle nous allons utiliser la bibliothèque PGFPlots fillbetween. Puis nous allons paramétrer la légende afin d'obtenir un meilleur affichage.

Dans cette nouvelle séquence, nous allons apprendre à positionner des nœuds de manière relative avec la bibliothèque TikZ positioning. Cela permet d'avoir un positionnement simple et efficace. Les nœuds pourront utiliser une distance globale fixée dans chaque environnement tikzpicture, ou des distances spécifiques pour chaque nœud. Le positionnement se fait avec des mots-clés au niveau des nœuds.

At the risk of stretching the definition of the #Mathober day 1 prompt ‘Link’, I offer an image based on a geometrical mosaic of intertwining loops from the Hall of the Two Sisters in the #Alhambra, redrawn to be mathematically precise.

(I drew the image as a PDF using #TikZ code that re-used loops of the same shape by applying appropriate translations and rotations.)
