I would like to hear your opinion on whether I should establish a new #TLP config default:

RESTORE_THRESHOLDS_ON_BAT=1

This would mean that the charge thresholds are reset to their configured values every time the power supply is disconnected. For example, if you previously removed them using tlp fullcharge in order to fully charge the battery for longer mobile operation.

Would this be useful for your use cases? Currently, you have to configure this explicitly.

Il semble que la coexistence entre #tlp et #power-profiles-daemon soit problématique (je n'ai pas beaucoup de détails). Il faut donc arbitrer et le choix majoritaire est en faveur de #tlp (parmi les utilisateurs de #Thinkpad)

Merci. Pour les #Thinkpad soyez attentifs, une fois de plus cette MàJ m'a tout simplement désinstallé #tlp => sudo apt install tlp

i guess installing #tlp on #fedora really messed up something with gnome because it kept spitting out error messages about something being destroyed when it would wake. it was good enough reason to install #debian on my (modified) 2013 macbook pro and debian seems to be working a lot better on it for some reason. 🤔

I'd like to hear your opinion on #TLP auto-switching.

Since release 1.9, #TLP has three #powerprofiles: performance (automatically on AC power), balanced (automatically on battery power), and power-saver (only manually by the user).

Should there be an adjustable preference that allows for something other than the fixed assignment to the power source? What are your use cases?

Speakers often overrate the TLP they use on their slides.

I've just seen a standard slide (excellent one, but that's not the point) that explains what #obfuscation is.

It was marked TLP:GREEN, which means it should not be shared on public platforms, and why I'm not attaching it here.

In reality, it should have been rating TLP:CLEAR, because there absolutely nothing sensible on it.

I suspect people overrate #TLP category to make it sound like there's something "juicy" about a slide...

Configuring TLP_AUTO_SWITCH=2 (the default) means that TLP automatically switches to performance profile every time the charger is connected, and to balanced when it is disconnected. If manually switched to power-saver, this is retained when the power source changes.
