But not in our house! Behold our vegan dinner of homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans with mushrooms, and cranberry sauce to accompany tofurkey with gravy.

We stopped celebrating #Thanksgiving after leaving the US — essentially because we could no longer find #tofurkey in Portugal and Spain.

Okay, where can I buy a #Tofurkey near #ForestHills in #Queens or in Manhattan? I didn't have one last year and I was sad, they're tasty.

Stop & Shop is the only place near me that's listed on their website, and that's on an unwalkable Union Tpke. There's gotta be some mom & pop grocers that carry them?

First success at #tofu from dry soy beans. I didn't have a press so I used the bag I made the soy milk in, which turns out to make extremely firm tofu. Accidentally made yuba along the way, so I know that can work, too. Starting yet more beans to do a dry run of from-scratch #tofurkey (#unturkey) tomorrow... Going to be sick of making soy milk by the end of the week, I'm certain.
