One more from last week. This time, the long exposure shot is of a bus heading to Parnell Place in Cork. The traffic light had just turned green, so the bus was driving slowly, accelerating as it went. It made a colourful impression on the digital sensor of my camera!

I have remarked (subjective personal personal observation in France) that traffic lights tend to increase dangerous driving behaviours, amongst them particularly:

- dangerous bicycles overpasses before traffic light,
- speeding when a green light is seen far in distance or yellow/orange light is showing.

To the contrary, temporary disabled traffic lights or blinking yellow/orange lights with priority to the vehicles that are coming from the right tend to slow down the traffic.

If there was an objective study, that would be interesting.

Can anyone help me understand what is the bicycle traffic light doing in this example? Cars can’t turn left right now, that light is red. Pedestrians don’t cross the bike path. So, what is preventing the bicycle lane from being green?
