new and unexpected
though I have made effort
to limit expectations
there’s always a crack in the seal
a sliver allowing thoughts
from the collective well or
somewhere less poetic to flow
hold these hands still for ten seconds
it takes for the technician
to focus and capture
what is it now I’ve abandoned or lost
control of and why
my left index finger trained over time
not to point to make one
now rebels as I watch from the sidelines
