Placed an order for a @tuxedocomputers InfinityBook, finally, after a ton of deliberation 😄

Took a moment as I wasn't sure if I was going to grab a Macbook or this, as I'll always eventually need a Mac for a complete workflow. That being said, I prefer Linux for a lot of things and I'll probably not be using it as much as my primary work machine (MBP M3 14") that I use daily.

The InfinityBook looks awesome, has great specs and was an incredibly good price (not least when compared to the Macbook).

Has anyone got one of the gen 9s? Are you running the Tuxedo OS on it or did you throw something else onto it? I'm considering using Fedora.

Ich finde überall nur Anleitungen, wie man die Unterseite des Laptops öffnet, aber nie die Oberseite.

Ich bin am Samstag in Augsburg am Linuxinfotag und dort ist #TuxedoComputers meistens auch mit einem Stand vertreten. Besuchen werde ich die sicherlich und mal ein paar Dinge klarstellen was den Support betrifft.

Ich möchte das betont haben: einzig fehlt _politischer_Wille_.

Technisch haben wir alles in Europa:

- Betriebssysteme: (open) #SUSE, #Univention
- Office: LibreOffice
- Cloud: #Nextcloud, #OpenCloud, #OpenTalk, #OpenExchange,...
- Grafische Oberfläche und Zubehör in fast jeder Manier: #KDE

Und noch vieles mehr!

Dafür müsste man in Europa Strukturen und Jobs schaffen. Schade, dass gerade neue Jobs irgendwie kein Argument zu sein scheinen. 🤷‍♂️
(Durch die Jobs würden übrigens Steuern in der EU bezahlt, was einen Teil der Kosten wieder zurück spielen würde; und die würden vmtl auch hier einkaufen, also Mehrwertsteuer usw.. Aber das nur so...)

@novacustom Going to dive into a #NovaCustom V54 Series 14.0 inch coreboot laptop...dual boot.

Qubes OS and second flavor of Linux undecided as of now.

#System76 and #TuxedoComputers also considered. All three are great but #NovaCustom offers certified Qubes OS delivery.

Jau vismaz gadu funktierēju,
bet bedzot darīts. Jaunā baterija ir mazāka, jo lielo tirgū vairs nav, bet jūtu, ka uzlabojums tik un tā būs.

Ja vien arī savam telefonam to varētu tik vienkārši.
