I worked out a way to take picks through a DOB so that I could stack them. For some reason I never followed through on the DOB. But I did use the procedure on a 60mm long focus refractor that was on a non-tracking mount.

I knew the images would drift through the fov due to earth rate. So I wrote a Yorick program that when given the first and last images of a digital CAM movie, could anticipate the drift then co-align images. Here's a #Tycho image taken through a 60mm refractor processed with that procedure.

The ISS was captured in silhouette as it briefly transited a gibbous Moon in 2019. Taken from Palo Alto, CA with an exposure of 1/667s, the full transit lasted just half a second. Look closely to see the station’s solar panels and trusses. Tycho crater is visible at lower left.
