Thanks to my nephew for the inspiration, there's a new product on my TeePublic storefront.
I like the design best as a sticker, but of course there are magnets, tees, and... well, lots of options!

I read a lot of #ScienceFiction. It fires my #imagination and allows me quiet time to escape from the mundane worries of the world. But, unlike certain #billionaires and apparently tons of #scientists, I understand that "life" and " #space " are antithetical.
We throw so much #money, and so many #resources at what amounts to an #UrbanMyth
We don't; however, throw money and resources at colonizing vacuum based antigravity microwave ovens.
But that's a pretty close analogy to space.
And it is an example of the poor cost/benefit investments in both natural and human knowledge resources that find us staring into the face of a #ClimateCrisis

In Korea there used to be an urban legend that if you slept with a fan pointed at your face you could die. Of what? That was for your undiagnosed heart disease/cancer/infection/stroke to decide. #fandeath

@expertenkommision_cyberunfall @countcol@mastodonapp.uk @JohnLoader6 @Roadwarrior29 Actually, that is not true. The fuel indicator in our car (Toyota Yaris) is on the right side, but to fill the fuel I have to be on the left side.
I recall for more cars that it is the opposite, so this qualifies as an #UrbanMyth
No #urbanmyth, the truth behind #Sydney 's #CentennialPark #Eels is even more fantastic #nature #greatread
1) The seven noses of Soho, London
"You may have come across a particularly great London urban myth, that a spare nose for the Nelson’s Column statue is kept under admiralty arch?
Even better that, when soldiers are walking through, each one is compelled to give it a tweak for good luck?"
Can any non-Australian know the terror of accidentally running over a deadly venomous snake and knowing it’s going to slither through the engine block and out the air vents into the front seats?
Or is that just something my mother told me to terrify me for the next thirty years?
my favourite #UrbanMyth is the idea that, as long as you bring the temperature of water up slowly/gradually, a frog in that water will not realize that it is being burned alive.
it is one of those cases where, if only people used their common sense for a second, they would immediately see how ridiculous the idea is. of course a frog is going to realize this; any living being capable of experiencing pain would! feeling boiling water is not a higher-order capacity, just because the temp. is high

Tick season already in full swing. I think it’s an urban myth that hard winters kill them. Last winter was super cold and long and we had these guys since early march while still having night frost.

Vacancy (2007): Hitchcockian Homage That Works
The 2007 film Vacancy is Hitchcockian homage that works. It is most definitely worthy of the Alfred Hitchcock themes and intensity that it elicits. Watching the Hitchcockian thriller Vacancy, the first thing that springs to mind is a sort of “remember when” game. Going back to a time before cell (mobile) phones became smart . A time when not every vehicle had a GPS in it. The film recalls the helplessness of travelling without those modern safety nets. Of course, at one point […]https://mikesfilmtalk.com/2015/01/24/vacancy-2007-hitchcockian-homage-that-works/
