Here's what the shipping company I use for me shop sent:
"Starting in February, USPS Post Offices will begin auditing packages more strictly for payment before accepting them. As part of this change, USPS representatives will be more diligent about confirming that postage payment has been fully processed at the time of drop-off."

Trump’s USPS at work. Product ordered on Saturday, claiming it would be there the next day. The distribution center is not far. By 4am the next morning it was at my local PO before being shipped to a PO several towns away, and then apparently delayed for several days for no reason. It has to come back to where it was before it can get to me. It’s a bottle of lotion.
It puts the lotion in the basket.

According to United States Postal Service tracking, something I'm expecting apparently arrived at the West Monroe post office at 4:29am, so technically it should have went out for delivery today. However, it apparently got sent to WINNSBORO, Louisiana and was "processed" there at 7:49am instead! 🙄 #usps

If you want to get a specific post mark, you have the option to get that done at the counter. But if you're doing that, you probably had the time to think about doing this a different way.

There's been a bit of a scare running through the meme-sphere about US postal service post marks.
"It is true that the USPS updated its DMM regarding postmarks, but officials stressed it didn't change any existing postmarking practices."
The important thing is if you're concerned about this for purposes of avoiding mail-in ballot f-ery, do yourself a favor and simply use your precinct's drop-box.
