"Between 1910 and 1930, a series of 2500 ‘special photographs’ were taken by the New South Wales Police Department.
These ‘special photographs’ were mostly taken in the cells at the Central Police Station in Sydney and are of men and women recently plucked from the street, often still animated by the dramas surrounding their ‘apprehension’.
Compared with the subjects of prison mug shots, the subjects of the special photographs seem to have been allowed – perhaps invited – to position and compose themselves for the camera as they liked."

A dozen vintage family photos were found late last Friday night (Aug.23rd) at the "Jefferson Park" Blue Line train station in Chicago. CBS-2 Chicago News is trying to help get them back to their rightful owner. [YouTube video link below.]
The Blue Line train route includes O'Hare Airport, and the photos were found soon after the #DNC ended. It is possible they were lost by an attendee.
The photos were taken in Benton Harbor, Michigan City, and two Chicago photo studios. Most date from 1900-1930. One photo says, "Myers and H. Jones" on the back.
