We had the honor of inspecting, tearing down, and cleaning up a Fairlight CMI! Someone in Colorado happened to find one for sale in Greensboro, and we were the local intermediary to help it safely along its journey. Unfortunately we weren't able to locate an appropriate monitor to actually get it up and usable, but based on our exam of the innards and brief testing, we believe it's all working, including the 8" floppy drives!

Finally pulling out synths and drum machines and finding out what's dead and what works, so far I've a 0/4 success rate. I did manage to resuscitate the Roland RS-505 and here's some brief proof of life.

My #Roland #U110 is behaving strange. Has somebody dealt with anything like this before? The image shows strange characters on the display of the unit where the name of the selected tone should be.
