In #VisualCode the shortcut for undo is CMD-z, while the shortcut for redo is SHIFT-CNTL-Z, unless it's Tuesday, or a Leap Year.

So I had a reasonably non-sucky day in the #saltmine yesterday. You know why? I didn't have to deal with anyone. I did my stupid standup and then put my head down and got some work done. Well, not really work. I spent the day trying to solve a #VisualCode problem. It works great via SSH, but Intellisense was complaining about some symbols it shouldn't have and I was determined to solve it. And I finally did. #softwaredev #coding #geek

#Magit, alone, would make his dealing with git much easier to understand and enjoyable to work with but he's not really using a lot of the advanced features of the IDEs so Java completion in #Emacs should suffice just fine.

I think the major thing I'll need is auto-indenting based on #ESLint since he's been using that feature in #VisualCode, if anyone knows if that's feasible with Emacs.

Otherwise, I don't think he uses any other features so I think this would be more helpful, for him.

A coworker of mine keeps having trouble with certain IDEs (he started with #VisualCode and now's on the #IntelliJ) and, especially every time he has to interact with git, all I can think is "#Magit could do that so much better…"

I…think I might customize an #Emacs config. for him so he has something that works and works the way he wants.

He's the type of person who just wants things to work and doesn't really dig into the "Why" when he runs into problems but on his own time when he's curious.

#Eclipse used to be my favourite #IDE for developing #java since >15 years. Habits die hard.
My recent steps into #javascript made me try #visualCode - now I am hooked! Coding more and more #java with #visualcode, too.
I rarely thank #microsoft, but here they did a job very well - must give them that.
