Of course it did

#SCOTUS on Friday temporarily blocked a lower court ruling that found #Texas’ 2026 congressional #redistricting plan pushed by #Trump likely discriminates on the basis of #race.

The order signed by Justice #Alito will remain in place at least for the next few days while the court considers whether to allow the new map favorable to #Republicans to be used in the midterm #elections.

#Texas Asks #SCOTUS to Clear Way for #Republican-Friendly Congressional Map

State officials are seeking to use a newly redrawn map for the 2026 #midterms, part of a nationwide #redistricting push by #Trump.

The court requested that the #CivilRights groups that had challenged the map respond to Texas’ request by Monday at 5PM.

As #California #voters went to vote Tues on a measure that could block Trump’s agenda, state ofcls ridiculed his unsubstantiated claims that voting in the largely #Democratic state is “rigged.”

“The Unconstitutional Redistricting Vote in California is a GIANT SCAM in that the entire process, in particular the Voting itself, is RIGGED,” #Trump posted without irony mins after polling stations opened.

Trump provided NO EVIDENCE for his allegations.

Turnout for the Lethbridge election dropped from a 30-35% average turnout to a dismal 19.5%. Many factors and decisions at play, including the decision to go from 19 polls to 3 ‘superpolls’ to contain the ballooning costs of new the mandated measures. But in the end it all boils down to and demonstrates one thing:

When conservatives say they want to protect democracy and integrity, what they will accomplish is voter suppression.
