Three #W65C02 to 6502 adapters. The top two use buffers on control and data lines (one uses ACT, the other HCT).
The last one, the newer, uses nothing and just adapts the pinout and adds a pullup.
Should have some time to test them on a real #VIC20 relatively soon.

Given the positive experience with the 386 #adapter, why not leverage the same process for something slightly different?

TheByteAttic designed a #W65C02 -> 6502 adapter that buffers the data bus with an 'HCT245, this is a variant of the same design (with another '245 for inbound control lines too), but, instead of having the transceivers on the side, it uses #SMD pins to occupy the exact same space as an original 6502, allowing a #QFP CPU to sit on top of the adapter.

I'd like to use for repairs on #VIC20 units.

There will be a #MOS6502 compatible version of the #agon single board computer! Based on the WDC #w65c02 cpu, with assembler and disassembler in ROM. Hopefully someone will adapt #BBCBASIC for it:
