If a UK LEA controlled junior school has failed to employ a lollypop / school crossing person for the best part of 2.5yrs, should the local council install a zebra crossing to ensure children learning to walk to school for the first alone time can safely cross the road to school?

Every time I pickup my wife from the West Broad Hyundai dealership, I think to myself that whoever did the road design of Homeview Dr next to JR Tucker High School needs to be charged with criminal negligence. A kid is gonna get killed by a driver while trying to walk less than a block from their house to their school.

I am astonished this is not getting headlines. It takes 20 minutes to walk a mile. We are in the midst of an obesity and climate crisis, and it seems not driving such short distances might be part of the solution to both.
