Everything is packaged in plastic and some might suggest that the acts of one individual can't effect the production and waste, but I hear that as an excuse. I was buying pump bottles for all my morning ablutions until I realized it wasn't necessary. There are now at least 3 plastic pump or aerosol dispensers I no longer buy and each one of these last at least as long as the associated bottle. They are packaged in paper not plastic and cost quite a bit less. #climate #plastic #pollution #waste

It is a simple scheme: when buying soft drinks or alcoholic beverages, the customer pays an extra 0.50 Romanian leu per bottle and gets the money back when returning the packaging to a collection point.
In the two years since the system was launched, beverage-packaging collection and recycling has risen to 94%.
