Well that deep freeze kicked in overnight, and yesterday's melty pools of run off are solid little mini skating rinks scattered about the streets and sidewalks today.

Tonight might be the last of the nasty temps? Down to minus 28C, and windchill down to minus 33. It tempers a bit for a still-chilly Monday, but then boom–above zero for the foreseeable days!

And can you believe it? February finally ended!

Увидел сегодня вечером странный снег. Снег похож на круглые гранулы до пары миллиметров в диаметре. Похож на крупный песок или замерзший дождь. Ассоциация с песком усиливается, когда начинаешь его пересыпать.
Когда снимал это все то он уже стал подтаивать и слипаться, и становиться коркой, но пару часами раньше он был совсем рассыпчатый.

Live In Berlin 1971 by Weather Report, released by GAD Records in 2023.

The recording was produced as part of a series of jazz workshops organized by NDR radio in Hamburg. The workshops brought together the most prominent creators in the European jazz circle and beyond. Weather Report's participation in this extraordinary endeavor, overseen by Michael Naura, was a major attraction of the "Berlin Radio Show." The musicians not only prepared a short performance for television but also played a full-length concert at the Haus des Rundfunks in West Berlin and it is this recording of September 3, 1971, that fills the two discs of Live in Berlin 1971.
