Some of you may have seen a post from me a couple days ago (now deleted) which conveyed some urgency about someone needing help in SFO airport and me asking if anyone was there.
Wanted to follow up and say:
1. y'all are awesome
2. thank you for the signal boosts
3. and especially thank you to the person who came through!
So, yes, everything has been resolved and it might make a good story one day if everyone involved decides to tell it or not.
Situation was handled and something that could have been very stressful or harmful wound up being okay in the end. 💚 (No interpersonal threat, in case you were worried. This was a logistical matter and having a human on the ground quickly in the right spot made a huge difference.)

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have scaled back efforts over the past two years to disrupt violent extremists’ online activities, according to current and former US officials and internet radicalization specialists who fear the trend will accelerate under the incoming Trump administration.
FBI and DHS officials are requesting fewer content takedowns and sharing less threat-related information with social media companies, according to a US official, two former US officials and three researchers who work with the agencies, all of whom requested anonymity to preserve government relationships. In particular, the agencies have largely stopped flagging networks of white supremacist accounts that try to recruit or radicalize new followers, according to the researchers.

I updated my profile picture to include a pixelart n95 mask (a 3M Aura, to be precise). It doesn't look too bad, at least when it's small or far away! 😆
I've actually recently upgraded from an Envo n95 to a p100 elastomeric respirator (GVS Elipse), but both of those are weird and hard to draw! I still wear Aura masks for medical situations where I'll have to remove it, and I wear Readimasks for MRIs (no metal or straps).
Some good commentary on Germany’s Hammerskins ban and the accompanying raids. The main question this article raises is: Why now? Blood & Honour has been banned in Germany since 2000 and Combat 18 was finally banned in 2020. Particularly given that all three had connections with the National Socialist Underground (NSU), which murdered 10 people, bombed several buildings, and generally terrorized non-white people across the country between 2000 and the group’s demise in 2011, this ban is very long overdue, yet right now is sort of a random moment for this to happen.
In particular, the author asks why leading figures in the Hammerskins’ music business in the states of Bremen and Lower Saxony weren’t raided. Their homes would have likely unearthed useful evidence. The fact that they were left alone raises questions about just how coordinated the police really were in different locations around the country. It also stirs suspicion that the ban and the connected raids may actually have been rushed and incomplete, despite the late date.
One curious facet of all of this is that Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (a Social Democrat) is currently up for reelection. She is responsible for imposing the ban.
The questions raised here can’t really be answered except by the Ministry of the Interior, but in any event, the author concludes that, while yesterday was a bad day for the Hammerskins, it nonetheless wasn’t necessarily a shining moment for the authorities involved.

A church hosting a family-friendly drag event with support from community defenders successfully repel christian fascists and proud boys in Portage, MI (Southwest Michigan about two hours from Detroit in one direction and two hours from Chicago in the other) yesterday in under 24-48 hours of notice of possible danger. A brief scuffle reportedly broke out leading to the immediate arrest of a chud that assaulted someone. Chuds then exchanged words across the street, got bored, tried to leave but their car wouldn’t start and then had to get a jump from a sympathetic chudmate before leaving the scene in disgrace. Clergy, nonprofit event hosts, and community allies vastly outnumbered the fash. The event continued uninterrupted as scheduled.
