@hikingdude @TimKStanton I was lucky enough to see whales about 1000 nm north of Hawaii on a NOAA research cruise. I was so surprised all I could get out of my mouth was to point and stammer ... big ... big ... dolphins. Funny thing was I spotted them before the group on the cruise that was there specifically to spot them ... but in their defense, the whales popped up close to our ship an they were busy scanning the horizon and further out. I did the best I could with the camera I had at the time (April 2008). #Whales #NorthPacific #NOAA
