@daj I think #whereby is a good choice although they are focussing too much on their API-services in the last months. I'm most of the time using OpenTalk, Jitsi or the german Alfaview.

@christophtill I did get the impression it was very new. I liked what I saw, other than the video quality and will revisit in a few months. Not sure what version I was on -- whatever loaded in the browser. For now I have settled on #Whereby

I mostly use #Whereby for video calls now a days but want you to give me your other alternatives that isn't big tech.
Momentan regen sich viele User auf, weil die #Jitsi Hauptinstanz jetzt eine Registrierung verlangt und dabei ein #Facebook-, #Google- oder #Github-Login nötig ist. Der Ärger ist nachvollziehbar. Es gibt jedoch jede Menge Jitsi-Instanzen, die keine Registrierung brauchen. @andreasgoebel @whereby ist tatsächlich kein schlechter Tipp. Laut Wirecutter bietet es die beste Tonqualität, was bei Musikunterricht ja nicht unerheblich ist. Wie die Latenz ist weiß ich leider nicht. Es funktioniert allerdings stabil und gut. Und niemand muss ein Programm installieren, damit es läuft. #Whereby
Ich empfinde es als sehr interessant, dass mit @whereby eine nicht-FOSS Lösung hier auf Mastodon Recht beliebt zu sein scheint. So nerdig wie behauptet wird ist das Netzwerk hier gar nicht #whereby #videokonferenz #videoconferencing
Heute Mal wieder @OpenTalkMeeting im Praxisbetrieb genutzt. Die Konferenz war nur klein, wirkte aber deutlich stabiler als das letzte Mal, als ich OpenTalk genutzt habe. Es gab keine Störungen oder Verbindungsprobleme. Das war das letzte Mal noch der Fall. Mit dem Bildschirm teilen bin ich bei OpenTalk noch nicht glücklich. Auch muss die Bedienung noch ein ganzes Stück intuitiver werden. Mein Favorit für Videokonferenzen bleibt momentan #Whereby. Ich werde OpenTalk dennoch weiter nutzen.
Habe heute @OpenTalkMeeting seit längerem mal wieder genutzt. Es funktioniert. Allerdings muss dringend die neue Version dringend schnell auf @mailbox_org eingespielt werden...wenn man auf "Whiteboard starten" klickt und nix passiert, ist das schon blöd. Und generell ist die Oberfläche noch sehr buggy. Da #whereby heute aber nicht funktioniert hat, habe ich OpenTalk eben mal wieder genutzt.
#Whereby hat sein Hybrid Meetings Feature nochmal nachgebessert. Ab sofort können alle in einem Raum befindlichen Geräte gleichzeitig als Lautsprecher dienen und es gibt trotzdem keine Echos oder Rückkopplung. Echt super!
