The meadow looks fantastic with all of the fall colors. I was happy that this song sparrow perched in this spot!

I really like the three dead leaves and the way the sparrow fell into place. I hope you like my sparrow photos as there are plenty more where this came from!

I am looking forward to the ducks returning for the winter and getting out there for more photo opportunities. I never know what the season will bring or what luck I will have. This one is from a frigid but sunny February morning in 2024.

I love the soft pastel colors that come out just after sunset. This Sanderling was feeding along the coast, running back and forth with the tide as they do.

We have a lot of storms in the northeast US right now but last week I was able to get out and capture some of the fall colors. I really love the cool blue tones of the nuthatch against the fiery colors of fall. And that orange patch on its bottom end just tops it off!

Fall has become sparrow season for me and I am so happy to be back out there capturing these beautiful birds in the meadow. In this one I really like the textures and hint of the tree in the background.

This Least Tern chick is playing king of the hill. I don't know if it had any competitors, but he is standing guard in case.

I love the patterns on this Black-bellied Plover as it molts out of its breeding plumage. It is such a stunning bird, especially against the blue water and white surf. Taken after sunset, I dropped the shutter speed to 1/13 second to further soften the crashing waves.

After a long afternoon scrubbing out a filthy chicken shed, I sat down by our pond to rest a while and was joined by these magnificent beasts. So lucky to share our garden with them.

I think this is the first photo of a Canada Warbler that I have ever posted. This species has been a bit of a challenge for me, but I was happy to get this shot near minimum focusing distance to create the dreamy look.

Horizontal frame. Canada warbler is in the lower left third, perched on a branch and looking right in a full profile. The foliage is blurred and dreamy framing the bird.

I finally caught up with a few Prothonotary Warblers last week! I always love to see these lemon drops!

Vertical frame with a leafless dead tree rising up through the right side of the frame. A prothonotary warbler in its deep yellow glory is perched on a bare branch in the lower third of the frame and looking left while singing. The background is smooth green with some blue sky peaking through above.
