Heh! I bought some cedar moth repellent balls at last, last week. I'd been trying to get them at #Wilko, but no branch ever had them in stock. I eventually drove for half an hour to my nearest John Lewis.
Now I have to dig up the trunk that I was going to put them in from underneath all of the things that have piled on top of it in all of that time that I was going to Wilko branches.

While #Wilko's unsecured creditors look likely to only get around 8% of their money, and the firm's company pension is suffering a likely £50m funding gap, its now clear that the family paid itself £9m in dividends since 2019... while profits halved.
Hmmm.... not enough to make up the shortfall, but a rather different end-game form the company's pensioners & their suppliers.

I saw today Nicky Campbell asking "should we save the high street?"
It's funny hearing people say this, because this is just free market #capitalism working as it is meant to.
They 'weren't up to the task' and so have to 'face the consequences for failure'. The wider effects of it and others collapsing be damned.
We all think this system is 'best of humanity', don't we?
Plus government taking them over would be 'socialism' and 'communism', and that is bad and evil.
