The developers had the brilliant idea of including a visitor centre/cafe and encouraging people to visit the site to make use of the tracks between the #turbines for #walking, #gravelbiking and #running. It's massively popular which proves that most people actually really like wind farms! #windpower #energy

Windenergie hat einen CO₂-Rucksack aus der Produktion – wie jede Technik. Aber: Dieser ist schnell „abgearbeitet“. Eine moderne Windanlage gleicht ihre Emissionen je nach Standort bereits nach wenigen Monaten aus – und produziert dann jahrzehntelang nahezu emissionsfrei Strom.

Zum Vergleich: Ein Braunkohlekraftwerk „rechnet sich“ nie – es pustet für jede Kilowattstunde über 1000 g CO₂ in die Luft.

Fazit: Wer das Klima schützen will, kommt an Wind nicht vorbei. Auch in Sachsen.

I have to come past Sutra wind farm once a day on average at the moment. I always appreciate the view. Of course as normal, they were all turning. This was taken at lunchtme today - almost unprecedented weather streak for the Scottish Borders at the beginning of April

Better than the Arecleoch #windfarm though. Where the guy "guiding" me over the phone turned out to be in London, fuck #London, had never visited the site, nor even actually knew the layout.

Never found the tip site, but I did find a pair of buildings labelled #MoD Keep Out. Just a pair of windowless brick sheds.
