I did a talk at a zine fest recently and only one person in the room had heard of #XraySpex. The band was fronted by teenaged Ethiopian-British, eccentric, bipolar, avant-garde, punk singer and songwriter #PolyStyrene who was born OTD in 1957. Her daughter, #CelesteBell made a documentary about her that came out in 2021. #punk #1977 #WomenInPunk #WomenOfColor
