There are landmarks, and then there’s Delicate Arch, nature’s quiet reminder that patience shapes everything worth seeing.

#WondersOfNature: #Lithops are Namibian and South African plants that have evolved to look like stones.
The name is derived from the Ancient Greek words λίθος (líthos) 'stone' and ὄψ (óps) 'face', referring to the stone-like appearance of the plants.
They avoid being eaten by blending in with surrounding rocks and are often known as pebble plants or living stones.
It's been a cold long winter, and even that day it was cold. According to wildlife experts it's possible that the geese are breeding now and the hatching will be later in April. But then, I'm not a fortune teller. (Most of the time) #CanadaGeese #geesegrazing #wondersofnature #ajalexander #nature
I was driving across rural Upstate NY when I discovered a deer crossing... and another... and another... and then I saw, they just wanted to join the family! (The next few fields looked exactly the same. I'm so happy to see all these healthy deer grazing!) Enjoying the wonders of nature! #Deerfield #deer #deerfamily #beautifuldeer #ajalexander #wondersofnature
#WondersOfNature: This very popular photo captured by Timothy C. Roth from Task Force Turtle portrays a snapping turtle that emerged after hibernation carrying the "earth" on its back.
This 13-pound snapping turtle in Maryland is carrying 18 pounds of mud and grass on its back. It hangs out in mud pits during the winter to keep warm. When the turtle comes out in the spring, it brings some of the mud with it!
#WondersOfNature: Eucalyptus deglupta, commonly known as the #Rainbow #Eucalyptus, is a species of tall #Tree that is native to the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
As rainbow eucalyptus sheds its bark, it reveals a neon green inner layer. Over time, as this layer is exposed to air, it ages into different colors - bright reds, oranges, blues, pinks and purples.
