There are landmarks, and then there’s Delicate Arch, nature’s quiet reminder that patience shapes everything worth seeing.

Good morning !

Penstemon digitalis, foxglove beardtongue. Be sure to zoom in and see the pink stripes inside the flower.
#BloomScrolling #perennials #WondersOfNature #Penstemon

On skinny green stalks there are some while flowers. Looking into the opening of one facing us we see a white textured inside with pink stripes leading in from the outer edges.

Good morning!

Mullein volunteer that is eventually going to bloom over at the allotment.

Looking down onto the green leaves of a Mullein plant where there are buds in the center. All the leaves are thick and textured, spreading out around the central growth stalk. Sunlight and shadows are mixed across the plant that is mostly in shadows.

Good Morning!

Under a Japanese Maple. Not quite #BloomScrolling but definitely one of the #WondersOfNature. #trees #JapaneseMaple

Looking up from under a tree that has spread it's branches across our whole field of view. From the trunk the branches spread upwards and outwards, but not a single one grows straight....they all twist and turn as if something has come in and stirred them around.

#WondersOfNature: #Lithops are Namibian and South African plants that have evolved to look like stones.

The name is derived from the Ancient Greek words λίθος (líthos) 'stone' and ὄψ (óps) 'face', referring to the stone-like appearance of the plants.

They avoid being eaten by blending in with surrounding rocks and are often known as pebble plants or living stones.

It's been a cold long winter, and even that day it was cold. According to wildlife experts it's possible that the geese are breeding now and the hatching will be later in April. But then, I'm not a fortune teller. (Most of the time)

I was driving across rural Upstate NY when I discovered a deer crossing... and another... and another... and then I saw, they just wanted to join the family! (The next few fields looked exactly the same. I'm so happy to see all these healthy deer grazing!) Enjoying the wonders of nature!

🌾 Rolling Hills of the Palouse 🌄

Like an endless ocean of green, the rolling hills of the Palouse stretch across the Pacific Northwest, shaped by wind and time. This breathtaking landscape, a paradise for photographers and travelers alike, transforms with the seasons—lush green in spring, golden waves in summer, and earthy tones in autumn.

Nestled among the hills, a lone farmhouse stands as a quiet reminder of rural life in harmony with nature. A place where time slows down, and every curve of the land tells a story.

Have you ever explored this hidden gem?

#WondersOfNature: This very popular photo captured by Timothy C. Roth from Task Force Turtle portrays a snapping turtle that emerged after hibernation carrying the "earth" on its back.

This 13-pound snapping turtle in Maryland is carrying 18 pounds of mud and grass on its back. It hangs out in mud pits during the winter to keep warm. When the turtle comes out in the spring, it brings some of the mud with it!

Do you use Pixelfed in browser or app? I decided to only use the browser version because I don't want any more apps on my phone fighting for my attention and it is much more comfortable for me to use my PC.

#WondersOfNature: Eucalyptus deglupta, commonly known as the #Rainbow #Eucalyptus, is a species of tall #Tree that is native to the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.

As rainbow eucalyptus sheds its bark, it reveals a neon green inner layer. Over time, as this layer is exposed to air, it ages into different colors - bright reds, oranges, blues, pinks and purples.
