Anybody wanna know about a 1960s adventure play-park in the Gorbals, run by Glaswegian folk singer Matt McGinn, which the council tried to shut down but failed cause like all the kids in the Gorbals marched on City Chambers?

A black-and-white photo of a protest of children walking through Glasgow streets carrying protest signs and banners. One is particularly visible, and reads:

'THE VENNY FOR
EVER
DONT PUL IT DOWN
WERE WILL WE GO TO
IF YOU PULL IT DOWN
THERE IS NO
PLACE ELSE'

In the foreground a child holds their sibling as they watch the march.

On 20 May 1873, 16 women from Ascott-under-Wychwood in Oxfordshire, England, were sent to prison for their role in forming the Agricultural Workers' Union and became known as the Ascott martyrs. Local farm workers had joined the union, so the landowner sacked them and instead hired workers from the nearby village of Ramsden.
