Last night I had an early night, in bed for 930PM.
I had to be up at 5, so set an alarm for 430.
Woke up without the alarm feeling refreshed, and lay there, waiting for the alarm to go off.
And waited.
And waited.
Eventually, I gave in and checked the time.
1030PM.
*facepalm*
And because I had had a nap, I couldn't get back to sleep.
So of course, after getting up at 5 (and figuring out how to increase the character limit here on my Masto instance), it's now 8AM, I'm just about to start work...
And I really need to go back to bed!
This is going to be a long day...

I don’t want a regular 9-5 job. Not really.

I don’t want it because I find the notion fulfilling. Or comfortable.

I want it because my survival hinges on it.

Quality of life is very different when motivation is survival not satisfaction. If I had other options I could rely on, I’d jump on them.

I don’t want to be “normal”. I have to be. No amount of self-acceptance changes that. No amount of masking makes it so.

Maybe it’s ok when your candidates have a motivation, even if it’s not “passion”?

My friend has to work overnight from 9pm tonight to 5am tomorrow patching servers. His employer won't pay him any overtime for this but they did offer to let him come in two hours late for his Friday shift.

Wow... TWO whole hours...and they wonder why nobody wants to work anymore.
