Freedom’s River
She eyed the river
She was musing on its duality

Years ago, they crossed the river
For freedom from their enslavers

Currently, she wondered
If she should leap into this river
For a different “freedom”

Her being was bleeding
(I am sorry….)

For her predecessors, this was the Nile
For her, this might as well be the Styx

They fled from their enslavers by crossing this river
And she felt like leaping into this river

She would be cursing herself
Certainly, for some reasons justifiedThey didn’t risk it all
Just so she could toss herself into the river

For her, the river might as well be the Styx
For them, it was the Nile, the Red Sea

They crossed this river for freedom
She contemplated tossing herself into it

Fates separate but intertwined

She was freer than them
However, she was still constrained
Enslaved in a different way

The Nile and the Styx
She mused on this river’s duality
Eyeing the river still

For more context, "Polaris" is her name and she's not bloomed since I first got her (she was already in bloom) but, recently, she's sprouted a spike and, as of this writing, she's bloomed.

I wonder if it means anything, with much considered. 🥺 🙏

Good morning.

Here's a screenshot from a fic I started on.

To give a brief summary, it goes like this, Nonon is an urban explorer who's drawn to this abandoned hospital for reasons she doesn't know.

Ketsuraku Sekai

The Waiting Room Girl

There she was, lurking in the corner of my eye, before vanishing so quickly that I almost couldn't process what she looked like. Long ebony hair, prominent eyebrows, blue eyes, and she wore white without shoes. With the way she was, I would have mistaken her for a specter in this otherwise abandoned waiting room. Who is she? I didn't know but I knew she was related to this abandoned hospital but her reason for being there wasn't clear. No, not at that point.

One occasion, I felt prompted to chase after her but she quickly vanished, leaving behind an identification band. In my first encounter with the “Waiting Room Girl”, I didn’t notice this band and, from I could read, had a few scribblings but not a name, though, it had an identification number. Whoever this girl was had the patient ID number of 050195 and I would guess that her patient ID number was her birthdate. I would leave the hospital with her ID band and, as I left, I felt as though she was watching me through one of the dusty windows. Who is 0501095?

"Shredded Cheese"

I remembered something I am still mad about.

She knows what she did.

Let the record state, I will start on a story, poem, or what have you before I complete one and this idea just came to me.

For more as to what that fic idea entailed, well, someone snapped. That is all.

I wrote this while thinking about work and, in working this job that I do, my opinions are thus.

As far as I can tell you, crisis lines are woefully ineffective. I'd go into more details but I won't, although, I will say is that, if you're in a vulnerable state, give your local peer-support lines a call, instead of crisis lines.
