When you are mentioned in a chatroom or when a contact sends you a message Movim now displays a direct shortcut to the latest conversations allowing you to go to the related discussion in one click! How convenient! 😸

I use Font Awesome icons on my presentation cover slides to link to my website and email. It would be great if we could also use them for Jabber/XMPP addresses!

@sentor @daniel you can check https://xmpp.org/software/?category=servers . I personally use mostly Prosody because it's lightweight and very easy to hack (I'm working on a client and have contributed several Prosody modules), but other options are really good too.
Note that Snikket offers an easy to install solution for self-hosting.

If a friend bought the #39C3 ticket for you and sent the .pkpass file via #XMPP, those files are now properly identified in #Conversations_im and display with a nice icon instead of a generic unknown file icon.
I'd wish #deltachat and #xmpp chats could interconnect (like Mastodon/Friendica/etc do) 🥺
Libervia CLI Tip 19:
To send a message, use `li message send`.
Messages can be encrypted using various algorithms supported by Libervia (OMEMO legacy, OMEMO:2, OX) with the `--encrypt` flag (or if a conversation is already encrypted).
Use `--rich` to add rich content.
There are various other options to add metadata such as language or subject, to add an attachment, etc.
Use `--to`, `--cc`, `--bcc ` to send to several recipients.

Today's #FreeSoftwareAdvent is all about XMPP.
Snikket (https://snikket.org/) is an easy-to-install, and easy-to-administer, XMPP server. It is designed for families and other small groups. The apps for Android and iOS (based on Conversations, I think) are great.
Dino (https://dino.im/) is my desktop XMPP client of choice.
Profanity (https://profanity-im.github.io/) is a terminal / console XMPP client, which is incredibly convenient.
Why not have a fun festive project of setting up an XMPP-based chat server for you and your family and friends?
This blog post perfectly sums up my main issue with ActivityPub: I have Akkoma, Lemmy, and Pixelfed, but for some strange reason, I can only interact with Pixelfed. To have the best experience, I need to create an account on each server. With XMPP, all I need is the right client.
@ArneBab @opensourceopenmind Well, I'm convinced @monocles would rather cease their service entirely that having to deal with the shitshow of trying to implement a compliant "verification framework".
