Throwback Thursday: In 2011 a new 1.5km tram loop opened in Auckland, NZ, as part of the Wynyard Quarter development, using trams from Melbourne.
To keep up the Melbourne tradition, many proposals of extensions have happened, with nothing actually being done. #YarraTram

ABOUT THIS TRAM :
This design is a recreation of #LinOnus 1991 #ArtTrams. Originally created and painted on the tram by Lin, assisted by his son Tiriki.
Lin described the design as ‘…symbolising the balance of opposites to achieve harmony: circles and diamonds, day and night, black and white cockatoos…’
The design is inspired by an amalgam of traditional #aboriginal thoughts and beliefs from all over #Australia.
