Now’t much happens in Heythwaite
Dolly and me we’ve been pals
For as long as either of us know
Heythwaite the town in Yorkshire
Is the place that we call home
There’s now’t much happens in Heythwaite
Except every Wednesday morn
That’s when Dolly and me
Have a nice cup of tea
At Skipton where the market was born
Then funny stuff started to happen
When Dolly said Betsy you see
Dick’s garage’s been ransacked
Hairdresser, the farm and that fella from Skipton
All wrecked, it’s such a rum deal
Now’t much happens in Heythwaite
Except for a new coffee shop
On the high street adjacent the hill
A Lancashire lass was the owner
But she wasn’t as bad as was billed
Our Christmas was spent at the coffee shop
A superb way to end a year
Reminiscing with friends old and new
We thought of four seasons just gone and concluded...
That Now’t much happens in Heythwaite.
